Winemaker Gonzalo Gonzalo has a cult following for his rebellious winemaking. ‘Gran Cerdo’ translating as ‘fat pig’, refers to the bankers that refused to loan him money for his vineyard.

The anti-establishment sentiment doesn’t stop there: despite being in the Rioja region and using many biodynamic practices, this wine is certified as neither. Instead, Gonzalo works his land with his own hands and his own rules, eschewing sulfur and chemical intervention to create this tongue-in-cheek natural wine.
