Many people ask why Chateau Musar’s winery is more than a two and a half hour drive from the vineyards in the Bekaa Valley. When Gaston Hochar began making wine in 1930, the boundaries of Lebanon had not been set, and he wanted to ensure that his premises would be inside the newly demarcated country.
Chateau Musar is the shining light of Lebanese viticulture and revered the world over. Their wine is made from vines planted since 2000 at around 1,000m above sea level in the Bekaa Valley.
"Musar Jeune White is unoaked. A blend of Viognier, Vermentino and Chardonnay from our younger vines planted in 2000 in the Bekaa Valley. I look to make a crisp, aromatic wine from this combination of French and Sicilian varieties. It has a distinct personality - passionfruit, apples, elderflowers and a long refreshing finish."
- Tarek Sakr, Winemaker.
