Port of Leith - White Port (Portugal)
Martha’s Family Estate has been producing exquisite Port in the Douro Valley since the mid 18th century. For much of that time, their wines were sold to merchants in Porto to be bottled under other people’s brands.
This White Port is first fermented on its skins for a week before fortification with 1 part grape spirit to 3 parts wine. It is then matured for an average of 3 years in 10,000 litre old oak barrels.
A wonderful Port to make a version of a White Negroni or mix with ice and tonic for a refreshing aperitif.
