Highland Whisky Nectar
Highland Nectar is a sumptuous Scotch whisky liqueur that celebrates the flavours of drams from the Scottish Highlands. Crafted by Elixir Distillers, it marries five-year-old Scotch whisky with botanicals including ginger, cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg, vanilla and bitter orange, for a golden liquid that is rich, aromatic and fruity. Toffee leads, sequeing into citrus and spice. The toffee becomes cinder toffee as vanilla builds, backed up by green, leafy herbal notes of tarragon. The toffee notes morph into spiced spongecake batter, stirred through with sultanas and extra brown sugar. Soft heather honey notes hide underneath everything.
Rich and thick, with an initial burst of spicy anise balanced by creamy vanilla toffee. The spice sits in the middle, a slowly dissolving aniseed ball, with cinder toffee and charred hints joined by bitter lemon rind and sweet candied lemon.
